Product Assignment
What is it?
The "Product" assignment was a partner or single project used to boost our creativity to come up with an original product we designed our self. What we had to do was come up with a good or service that would be benefiting to the people or environment, The project had to include a five to ten slide presentation or poster that held information of the product, product package, and a drawing of the logo.
On the five to ten slides we had to provide information to the following questions. 1. The name of your business/Company and its location-you are producing the product or service. The name of the good or service that you have selected to produce. Our business was called Micro-Freeze located in the heart of Los Angeles, California. The product we are producing was called the Micro-Freeze microwave. 2. Description of the product and its benefit to the environment. Micro-Freeze is the new microwave oven that cools and freezes instead of heats and burns. It comes in multiple colors. It is also portable and is easy access. It basically looks like a microwave, works like a microwave, but in a reverse manner. The best part is, it is energy deficient and doesn't take up a lot of room. 3. The target market for your product. Define your competition. Adaptations needed to sell International. Our target is for those who want a nice cold drink without a wait time. There is no competition because we are the only reversible microwave that cools BOTH food and drinks within seconds! Though adjustments would need to be made for International business sales such as different electrical outlet heads. 4. Price range of your product/service.What factors will you need to consider, in order to produce, a quality product at a reasonable price? Make-sourcing or buy-sourcing your raw materials & labor, explain your decision. The price range for our product would range from $90 to $140● The lower prices are for portable and higher cost is for the actual micro-freeze. We would have to consider the way we have to make it, especially considering there is going to be a built in freezer, and getting the necessary supplies. This is a buy-sourcing product because we wont be able to make most of the materials that we need to make the final project Why does it matter?
In this class we learn about all kinds of businesses around the world. This project was to teach us the different things we need to know when it comes to making our own product. If we want to be good entrepreneurs we need to know ways to make our good or service one of a kind. Mind you, this project wasn't just assigned out of the blue. It was to go with the chapter we were studying in that class, which was about identifying our competitors, making adjustments in different countries, and identifying our targets and future customers. All of which are steps to being good entrepreneurs.

Learn anything?
I diffidently realized how much work business people put into their goods and services. This project took about a week and me and my partner had to research, look for ideas we wanted in out product, do all sorts of things to make our good one of a kind.

Country Project
Why does it matter? In this class we learn to about all kinds of business around the world and how they operate. We already learned how to create a product and how to sell it or advertise it. In this project, the main purpose was to learn about the different countries and how to run a business in that country. You see if I was a real business lady and I would want to say, I don't know, sell my product in Italy then I would have to conduct a meeting pertaining to this matter. Though if I don't know the culture in Italy, I might do something inappropriate and the people I want to reach out to might get offended and not accept my offer.
Therefore I had to learn the ways of an Italian. Learn anything? In this project I learn about the culture and the way of life for the Italian people. I got to research about the way that they dress and act, and that entertains them. On a serious note, I learned about the economy over there and the facts about the land such as its geographical features and as a country, what goods and products do they import and export. I have Italian blood in me, so it was pretty cool to learn more about the people through this research over a small period of time then what I've learned through my mom over my life.

What is it? In this project we had to pick a country we wanted to do research on. Me and my partner chose to do the country of Italy. Down below are the questions and information we found on this country.
1. Making appointments When wanting to make an appointment with a business in Italy, the business wanting the appointment is mandatory to be made in Italian writing and must be scheduled two to three weeks in advance. It has to be reconfirmed by telephone or tax (writing in Italian as well). Around August is mainly the best time NOT to make an appointment in Italy. Those are the time many people are on vacation and not around. In the North, being on time is the key. Have all your paper work printed and ready in both English and Italian. Lastly it is best to develop trust with your Italian colleges. 2. Business Dress Dressing is a big deal in Italy. When dressing for a business meeting or such it is best for the men to wars dark colored suits that are conservative. For the women they are able to wear business suits as well and or a conservative dress. Elegant accessories are important for both men and women. 3. Welcome Topics of Conservation Take the time to ask questions about your business colleagues family and personal interests, as this helps build the relationship Italians are extremely expressive communicators. They tend to be wordly, eloquent, emotional, and demonstrative., often using facial and hand gestures to prove their point. |
